It’s so close to the weekend I can hardly wait. The Husband is off to Croatia on yet another stag do this weekend. After a night in Split he’s sailing around the islands on a yacht. Although I’m not going with him, I’ve asked him to take loads of photos so that I can report back. Watch out for that post next week.
First Ever Product Review
I’m really excited to say that even though I haven’t been blogging for very long, a beauty sales agent called Belinda has sent me my first product to review.
And here it is, a lovely shiny new lipstick from Avon for me to test and review. The full name is Avon, True Colour in shade “blush nude”. I was given a choice of colours to test. I selected this one as I’m a bridesmaid in a couple of weeks and this shade will go really well with the colour scheme of the wedding. I am really excited to try it and see if it’ll work for the big wedding!
I may not be the best photographer but the label on the bottom is a bit blurred I promise! I’ve opened my new lipstick and the colour is exactly what I was looking for, a really natural blush shade.
Good quality packaging
The tube itself feels quite weighty and good quality; it closes with a good click so I am confident it won’t open in my handbag. When I put the lipstick on, it feels light and moisturising on my lips which is nice. I’m not sure how long it will stay put but time will tell. Also, it’s such good value, a lipstick from Belinda’s eBay store is just £2.10. I’m not just saying this because I’ve been given one for free to try but that is really good value. She’s got some great offers on too and you can get a free nail polish if you spend over £6 AND there’s free postage.
It can always be a bit of a nightmare when you buy a lipstick and then when you get home and try it on it looks a completely different shade on your lips. So I’ve taken a photo of my lips with the lipstick applied and I think it looks pretty good, maybe a touch more pink that it did in the tube but I think blush nude is a good description.
If you are interested in hearing more about the various product that Belinda sells you can follow her on Twitter. From time to time she runs giveaway competitions and is always posting about the latest products she has for sale.
What are you up to this weekend? I’m headed out for a few drinks with friends this evening and after getting my hair done tomorrow afternoon I’m going to The Dairy in Clapham. Rumour has it that they are looking to get awarded a Michelin star so I’ll take some photos and let you know what I thought about it early next week.
